About the Project

Newhams Yard is a mixed-use residential development at 151-153 Tower Bridge Road in Bermondsey, developed by Galliard Homes in partnership with Acorn Property Group.

The £86 million scheme comprises three buildings of up to 10 storeys, delivering 86 luxury apartments alongside aparthotel residences, with retail and restaurant space at ground level.

Designed by DLA Architecture, the development includes balconies across its residential elevations, and sits close to Tower Bridge and St Mary Magdalen Churchyard in the heart of Bermondsey.

All Clean London cleans Newhams Yard on behalf of Galliard Homes, maintaining the presentation of one of Bermondsey’s newer residential landmarks.

The Challenge

Newhams Yard’s three buildings combine height with a high density of balconies across the residential elevations, each needing to be reached and cleaned individually alongside the windows themselves.

Balcony glazing and balustrades add a layer of detail that standard window cleaning access doesn’t always cover, and with residents living on site and ground-floor retail and restaurant units trading below, the work needs to be carried out safely and with minimal disruption to daily life on site.

The Solution

All Clean London’s rope access team cleans Newhams Yard using abseiling techniques, descending each building’s facade from roof-level anchor points to clean windows across all three blocks.

The team also provides balcony access as part of the programme, reaching individual balcony glazing and balustrades that a standard facade pass wouldn’t cover.

This combined approach lets the team maintain a consistent standard across the whole development’s windows and balconies in a single coordinated visit. Full risk assessments and method statements are provided for every visit.

The Result

All Clean London’s ongoing abseiling and balcony access programme keeps Newhams Yard looking well presented across all three buildings, protecting the standard expected of a flagship Galliard Homes development in one of Bermondsey’s most visible locations.
