Sunborn Yacht Hotel
About the Project
The Sunborn Yacht is one of London’s most unique hospitality venues, a luxury floating hotel permanently moored on the River Thames in Royal Docks, East London. As a high-profile destination for guests and events, the vessel’s exterior appearance is central to the experience it delivers, requiring a cleaning contractor with both the specialist access skills and the discretion to work in an operational hotel environment.
The Challenge
Cleaning a floating hotel presents challenges that no land-based building does. The Sunborn Yacht’s curved hull, multi-level exterior, and position on the Thames mean standard access methods simply don’t apply. Work needs to be carried out without disrupting guests or staff, and the combination of windows and facade across a vessel of this scale requires a team experienced in working across both surfaces in a complex, high-profile environment.
The Solution
All Clean London deployed a specialist team using rope access and water-fed pole systems to clean the Sunborn Yacht’s windows and full exterior facade. Rope access allowed our IRATA-certified operatives to reach the vessel’s upper levels and more complex curved sections, while water-fed poles were used across the lower deck windows for an efficient, streak-free finish.
All work was carefully scheduled and carried out with minimal disruption to hotel guests and staff, a non-negotiable requirement for any active hospitality environment.
The Result
The Sunborn Yacht’s windows and facade were restored to a pristine finish, maintaining the high standards expected of a luxury London hotel. All Clean London continues to return for repeat cleans, keeping the vessel looking its best for guests and visitors year-round.
