Case Study

New Capital Quay

About the Project

New Capital Quay is a riverside residential development on Dowells Street in Greenwich, built by Galliard Homes and completed in 2013.

Fronting the River Thames on three sides, the development comprises a series of apartment buildings including Admiral Tower, Beacon Point, Canary View, Dundas Court, Jubilee Court, Empire Reach, Gladstone House, Hargood House, Kings Lodge and Imperial Mansions, with on-site amenities including a Waitrose, Costa Coffee, concierge, and landscaped communal gardens.

Its curved architecture and mixed materials draw on Greenwich’s maritime heritage, and its riverside position gives residents views across to Canary Wharf and the O2.

All Clean London cleans New Capital Quay on behalf of Galliard Homes, maintaining the presentation of one of Greenwich’s most well-established riverside communities.

The Challenge

New Capital Quay is not one building but a village of them, each with its own height, brick and glass facade, and balcony configuration, spread across a large riverside site.

Buildings like Admiral Tower rise to 15 storeys, and across the development, balconies, glazing, and brickwork all need to be kept looking sharp for residents and for a site that fronts directly onto the Thames.

Coordinating cleaning across so many individual blocks, while keeping disruption to residents, the on-site Waitrose, and communal gardens to a minimum, calls for a team that can move methodically between buildings without losing consistency in standard.

The Solution

All Clean London’s rope access team cleans New Capital Quay using abseiling techniques, working down the facades of the development’s taller buildings to reach windows and balconies safely and efficiently.

Our IRATA-trained operatives descend from roof-level anchor points, allowing each block to be cleaned in a controlled pass without the setup time or footprint that cradles or cherry pickers would need across such a sprawling, multi-building site.

This flexibility lets the team maintain a consistent cleaning standard across the whole development, whatever the height or configuration of each individual block. Full risk assessments and method statements are provided for every visit.

The Result

All Clean London’s ongoing abseiling programme keeps New Capital Quay’s buildings looking well maintained across the whole riverside site, supporting the standard residents and visitors expect from one of Greenwich’s most established developments. Consistent access across all of the development’s blocks gives Galliard Homes a reliable, single point of contact for window and facade cleaning across the entire site.
