Lower Riverside

About the Project

Lower Riverside is a residential neighbourhood within the wider Greenwich Peninsula masterplan, developed by Knight Dragon.

The district combines waterside tranquillity with the amenities of Greenwich Peninsula’s wider offer, including The Jetty, the O2, NOW Gallery, and the Thames Path, and includes a mix of residential buildings such as The Waterman, The Lighterman, and Aperture, ranging up to around 30 storeys.

Lower Riverside sits alongside Upper Riverside as one of the Peninsula’s flagship residential districts on the river.

All Clean London cleans Lower Riverside, maintaining the presentation of buildings across this stretch of the Greenwich Peninsula riverside.

The Challenge

Lower Riverside comprises several residential buildings of varying height and facade type, from lower-rise blocks up to towers of around 30 storeys, all positioned directly on the Thames and exposed to the wind and weather that comes with a riverside site.

Keeping glazing across so many individual buildings looking consistently well presented, on a schedule that works for residents and doesn’t disrupt the surrounding public realm, calls for a team comfortable coordinating multiple access methods across one large, multi-building site.

The Solution

All Clean London cleans Lower Riverside on a six-monthly basis, using a combination of rope access and cradle systems tailored to each building’s height and configuration.

BMU cradle systems are used on the taller elevations, allowing operatives to work methodically across wide sections of glazing from a controlled, suspended platform, while our IRATA-trained rope access team covers sections cradles can’t reach, descending from roof-level anchor points to clean windows safely and efficiently. Full risk assessments and method statements are provided for every visit.

The Result

All Clean London’s biannual cradle and abseiling programme keeps Lower Riverside’s buildings looking well maintained across this stretch of the Greenwich Peninsula riverside, supporting the presentation residents and visitors expect from one of Knight Dragon’s flagship neighbourhoods.
