About the Project

Hounslow House is a striking modern commercial building in the London Borough of Hounslow, West London. Designed to stand out architecturally, the building features contemporary cladding and glazed panels that form a distinctive exterior, one that requires specialist care to maintain its appearance against the effects of urban pollution and weathering.

The Challenge

Modern facade materials demand a tailored approach. Standard cleaning methods risk damaging the underlying finish of cladding, glazed panels, and intricate architectural details. The building’s design also means that access planning is critical, the wrong equipment or approach can compromise both the quality of the clean and the safety of operatives working at height.

The Solution

All Clean London carried out a full facade clean at Hounslow House, customising the approach to suit the building’s specific surface materials and surrounding environment. Our teams assessed the cladding types, glazed sections, and architectural elevations before selecting the appropriate cleaning methods to remove dirt, pollution, and built-up grime without damaging the underlying finish.

Where surface build-up required more intensive treatment, pressure washing using a DOFF steam machine, was deployed to remove ingrained dirt and pollution from the building’s exterior without compromising the underlying finish. This was carefully controlled to suit the specific materials on each section of the facade, ensuring an effective clean without risk of damage.

All cleaning was carried out via abseiling, with our IRATA-certified rope access operatives descending the building’s exterior to reach every section of the facade safely and precisely. This method allowed the team to work efficiently across the full height of the building without the need for scaffolding or external platforms, minimising disruption to the surrounding area throughout the project.

Access solutions were carefully planned for the building’s configuration, with experienced operatives working efficiently throughout while maintaining high safety and quality standards at every stage of the project.

The Result

The outcome was a fully revitalised facade that enhances Hounslow House’s appearance and supports the building’s long-term condition. The clean demonstrates All Clean London’s ability to approach architecturally distinctive buildings with the care and specialist knowledge their materials demand.
